Why can't guys wear tights outside of sports and dance?

Lots of guys wear sports stuff, like sweatshirts, sweatpants, mesh shorts, just around as regular clothes. How come even though guys wear tights for sports too, they don't wear them with regular clothes? It's like guys can only wear tights if they have an excuse. I think they're cool to wear, so I don't get it.
