Seeking software to easily create a "thermometer" graphic on the Web showing progress toward a numerical goal.

I want to add a little graphic to a Web page that I can easily update each day or week, showing progress toward a numerical goal. (For American readers, it would be sort of like a United Way fundraising thermometer type of thing). Any suggestions? Thanks.
